Plantasens® HE20
INCI: Cetearyl Glucoside & Sorbitan Olivate
This is a natural, plant based and Ecocert certified O/W emulsifier based on Olive oil and is a perfect substitute for Olivem® 1000. It is as easy to work as with Olivem® 1000, creates stable emulsions with a nice feel and has much less "soapiness" on skin compared to Olivem® 1000 and the best of all: costs much less than that.
You can do what you want with this emulsifier and it wouldn't disappoint you. An excellent emulsifiers for beginners and more practised emulsion makers.
You can add Plantasens® HE20 to the water phase, to the oil phase or run the one-pot method and blend all of your ingredients all together. Heat your phases to ca. 70 C, slowely add the oil phase to the water phase (or blend the mixture in one-pot method) and voila, you have a silky and stable emulsion.
You can even prepare oil-free emulsion with this emulsifier. Just add it to your water phase to create a nice textured creamy product without any oil. This is excellent for products such as men's toiletries, after sun or cleansing products with a creamy texture. It creates white emulsions unless you apply oils and extracts with intensive colours.
Application dosage: 3-6% for 10-35% oil phase. For non-oil products: 5-10%
We recommend applying viscosity modifiers and natural gums to adjust the viscosity and to improve the long-term and thermal stability. It works perfectly with all natural gums such as xanthan, konjak, tara, tragaccanth, Locust bean, acacia, guar and other gums.
In this post you can find a sample formulation for a natural and silicone free hair conditioner in our blog.
