This is the resin derived from the living tree (not the essential oil). The resin does not contain any fatty acids. It contains 30-60% Beta- caryophyllene which is a sesquiterpene. Both the oil and the essential oil have medicinal properties and are used for their:
- anti-inflammatory
- anti-parasitic
- antimicrobial
- wound-healing pain relief
properties.
There are studies that support the anti-cancer and neuroprotective
claims. This resin and its essential oil are widely used in acne
treatment and clinical wound treatment.
This oil contains a high concentration of sesquiterpenes and has a dominant resiny scent. Use it diluted and in combination with other oils and butters. Protect the resin against oxidation.
