Natural Emulsifier GSC palm oil free

Average rating of 0 out of 5 stars

Natural Emulsifier GSC palm oil free
Natural Emulsifier GSC palm oil free is an anionic, natural and palm-free O/W emulsifier based on rapeseed (canola) oil.INCI: Glyceryl stearate citrateThis emulsifier could be used as a standalone emulsifier or in combination with nonionic emulsifiers to improve the texture and stability of the emulsions.GSC palm oil free complies with Ecocert, BDIH, Cosmos and NaTrue standards .Application dosage: 0,5-4,0%Oil phase concentration: 15-40 %Melting range: 58-62 °CApplication:This is a hot process emulsifier. Heat the emulsifier with the oil phase to 75-80 degrees Celsius, heat the water phase separately. When the emulsifier is completely melted blend the oil phase and slowly add the oil phase to the water phase and blend. Homogenize the mixture for a few minutes. Stir and cool down the emulsion. At about 35-40 degrees add sensitive ingredients and the preservative and adjust the pH (According to the preservative)GSC palm oil free creates medium viscosity emulsions when used alone. You can increase the viscosity of the emulsions by adding butters, waxes or fatty alcohols to the oil phase. The higher the oil phase concentration and the concentration of butters and waxes the higher the emulsion viscosity. This is a very versatile emulsifier for a broad range of purposes from hand and body moisturizers to cleansing emulsions, baby products and hair conditioners. It creates white emulsions (unless you use oils and extracts with an intensive colour) with a very silky and luxurious appearance. It is free from that horrible soapiness accompanying many natural emulsifiers.Read this blog post for more info and recommendations about working with this emulsifier.

Neocare P3R

Average rating of 0 out of 5 stars

Neocare P3R
INCI: Polyglyceryl-3 Polyricinoleate (>90%), Polyglyceryl-3 Ricinoleate (<10%)Country of origin: BelgiumNaTrue certifiedHLB: ca. 3,5Neocare P3R is a natural (palm-free and suitable for vegan formulations) emulsifier for W/O (water in oil) emulsions. This is an amazing blend creating light and low viscosity (even sprayable) emulsions with an outstanding stability and a silky skin feel that is very untypical for W/O emulsions. It is very easy and uncomplicated to work with. You can apply the emulsifier both in cold or hot process depending on your preferences and other ingredients in your emulsion. The emulsifier is a high viscosity liquid. At cold temperatures and in winter, you may have to slightly warm it up to reduce the viscosity and help blending it in the oil phase if you're doing a cold process.Application:3-5% in the oil phase for 10-40% oil content. Blend oil and water phase separately. For W/O emulsions, the pH of the water phase should be adjusted before blending the two phases. W/O emulsions need an electrolyte for stabilization. Generally bivalent ions (such as Magnesium) are more effective than mono-valent ions (such as sodium). Add 0.5-1.0% of NaCl, Magnesium Sulphate or another suitable electrolyte into the water phase. After both phases are homogeneous, very slowly add the water phase to the oil phase while stirring the oil phase. Try to avoid building of any water pool. After all of the water phase is added to the oil phase, stir for another 30 minutes. This emulsifier does not necessarily need homogenization. Long homogenization may even have adverse effect on the stability.Voila, enjoy your emulsion.Read this blog post for a sample formulation.

Polyglyceryl-4-caprate

Average rating of 0 out of 5 stars

Polyglyceryl-4-caprate
INCI: Polyglyceryl-4-Caprate/ PG-4-caprateCAS number: 160391-93-5This is a palm-free and vegan emulsifier based on rapeseed, castor, coconut and sunflower oil. This is the more polar brother of the polyglyceryl 4-oleate which is used in oil-to-milk waterless cleansers. Because of its higher polarity you need to blend it with PG-4 oleate in oils but you can use it as a standalone emulsifier in cleansing balms and scrubs. The after-rinsing skin feel is much more pleasant compared to the PG-4 oleate because of the higher polarityApplication dosage: 1-10%A sample formulation from our blog

Polyglyceryl-4-oleate
INCI: Polyglyceryl-4-oleate/ PG-4-OCAS number: 71012-10-7 / 9007-48-1HLB: 4-6This is a palm-free and vegan emulsifier based on olive and sunflower oil. With an HLB between 4-6, it is a W/O emulsifier that could be processed both cold and hot. It's extraordinary and most attractive function is however, the ability to create self-emulsifying waterless products such as cleansing oils, balms, scrubs, etc. The product turns to a milk by applying water and is easily rinse-off without leaving any unpleasant greasiness or stickiness.Application dosage: 5-15%Have a look at this blog post for a formulation example and some inspiration.

Sucrose Stearate

Sucrose Stearate
INCI: Sucrose StearateCAS# 25168-73-4 / 37318-31-3HLB: Approx. 15Sucrose stearate is a very versatile natural emulsifier for a broad range of O/W emulsions. It could be applied in cold process, in warm process or in cold-warm process as a stand-alone emulsifier or blended (1-1.5%) with other emulsifiers to enhance stability and skin feel. It creates smooth and silky emulsions with no soapiness or greasiness. You can add Sucrose stearate into the water phase, into the oil phase or in a one pot process (blending oil and water phase from the very beginning). Adding sucrose stearate to the water phase creates emulsions with a slightly higher viscosity compared to emulsions where sucrose stearate is added to the oil phase.Application dosage: 18-20% (of oil phase). We recommend applying an emulsion stabilizer such as Solagum AX, sclerotium, acacia, konjak or LBG.Read more about sucrose stearate in our blog.
